Class Instructor
Position: Class Instructor
Classification: Non- Exempt 32 hours weekly or Non- Exempt 16 hours weekly
(both are available)
Reports To: Raffa Family Center Director
Description: Provide direct services to individuals and families who seek to improve parenting through practical parenting and life skills education.
Qualifications/Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree in ministry, education, or social services field preferred or experience in a similar field
- Approved DPS, Criminal and CPS background checks
- Experience working with social service agencies
- Two years experience working in related field
- Be able to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision
- Have faith in God and have accepted salvation through His son, Jesus Christ; daily living in a relationship with God that would be evident in your life, through word and deed
- Have strong commitment to the Mission of Raffa and be in full agreement with Raffa’s Statement of Faith, Core Values Statement, and Mission Statement.
- Attend church on a regular basis
- Computer and database management capabilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent typing skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to pursue ongoing training
- Self-motivated, dependable, and responsible
- Willing to and able to travel, as necessary
- Occasional nights and weekends required to participate in community events and training as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry 40+ pounds up to waist high level
- Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, walk, reach, climb on a step stool or ladder, and be able to be sedentary or stand 50% of the time
- Must be able to hear, see, and speak in order to communicate with clients and volunteers efficiently
Duties:
- Maintain monthly class schedule for classes and coaching (as necessary)
- Be familiar with Raffa Family Center education program materials and teaching supplements
- Coordinate with Center Director and Case Manager to fulfill care plans for clients as directed
- Ensure all appropriate documentation has been completed as per Center guidelines and policies
- Maintain client contact and conduct case visits to monitor progress in case plan
- Provide weekly and monthly assessment reports of class progress to supervisor
- Participate in all organizational training as required by supervisors
- Assist volunteers with direction and guidance
- Participate in vendor fairs and booths to network with agencies, vendors, and potential clients as needed
- At all times be a Raffa Ambassador in the community
Administration:
- Record all necessary information in the electronic record keeping system and the online educational system
- Record log of incoming and outgoing calls for referrals, primary and secondary billing
- Submit timely invoices for billable services
- Follow up with clients according to established KPIs
- Collect measurements and data points for all initiatives and services
- Capture referral calls and minutes for billing purposes
- Report child abuse/neglect to the Raffa Family Center Director
- Assist with keeping cleanliness of grounds and building during business hours and events
- Assist with the assembly of material assistance to maximize billing opportunities.
- Follow established policies and procedures and documentation protocols
This is an non-exempt position. Your work week is limited to 32 (or 16 for part-time position) hours, calculated Monday to Sunday. Hours worked must be logged into the ADP app. No overtime is authorized without prior approval from the Center Director or Executive Director. Raffa retains sole discretion to determine when employees must work greater than 40 hours per week. Working unauthorized overtime hours may lead to disciplinary action and even termination.
