This volunteer works closely with our Education team to plan, lead, and facilitate our parent program. They are in direct communication with our program participants and make sure each participant's needs are being met while working toward their goals
This volunteer is one that desires to work to build financial support for Raffa. The opportunities for this volunteer range from event planning and management to serving on our advisory team for fundraising.
This volunteer will help to make sure our Raffa Boutique is prepared for when our parents shop for the items they need for their babies. Our Boutique volunteers process incoming donations and put them out for display in our store. This is generally a position that does not have direct client contact.
This volunteer will work behind the scenes to help with mailouts, preparing client handouts, and preparing our mailouts of material assistance to our clients. This is a position that does not have direct client contact.
We are seeking volunteers to help supply snacks and occasional light meals for our clients when they are at Raffa for classes, appointments, or baby showers. These opportunities are scheduled in advance and you can serve as you are able.
This volunteer works closely with our Client Care team to walk with women through pregnancy loss either by miscarriage or by abortion. Lay counseling positions to support our clients through difficult life circumstances are available as well. Both men and women are needed for spiritual support volunteer positions.
Our team utilizes a variety of computer and "techie" things that sometimes need some assistance to run smoothly. If computers are your thing and you are willing to volunteer your time and talent to help, IT support is your role!
Our facilities sometimes needs some fine tuning. This is usually simple things like routine building maintenance, minor repairs, or lending your experience and expertise to trouble shoot problems as they arise. If you are a handyman or jack-of-all trades, this is your position!
The Strong Families Tax Credit lets Texas businesses redirect up to $1 million in franchise tax they already owe into a dollar-for-dollar credit -- by making a designated contribution to Raffa Clinic.
Walk your clients through these steps. The process is straightforward -- the key is timing. Credits are awarded first-come, first-served.
Your client applies through the Texas Comptroller's Webfile system to reserve a credit allocation, stating the intended contribution amount.
Within 14 business days, the Comptroller notifies the company: approved, waitlisted, or ineligible. Approval does not authorize the credit yet -- the contribution must still be made.
Once approved, the company makes its designated contribution to Raffa Clinic within 30 days of approval -- and no later than December 31. The gift must be designated for the Strong Families Tax Credit at the time it's made.
Raffa Clinic issues a Certificate of Contribution to the donor and emails a copy to the Comptroller's office within 30 days. This step is time-critical -- missing it disqualifies the credit.
Once the Comptroller receives the Certificate of Contribution, they notify the company of the awarded credit amount.
The company claims the credit on its franchise tax report the following year. Unused credit carries forward for up to 5 consecutive report years.
The $5 million annual cap is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Help your clients prepare before the reservation window opens.
